So, in X-Men: First Class, Magneto:

1.  Chokes 2 women. (With some torture mixed in with one of them.)
2.  Has a bad habit of torturi people.
3.  Has a go at being a mass murderer.
4.  Possibly sexes up his buddy's possibly underaged sister.  (I prefer to think they stopped at makeouts.)

And yet, still manages to be less of a cretin than Xavier.
